ICYMI - News and Tidbits - August 1

Here are some news and tidbit items from this week in gospel music -

  • Please pray for the Freemans. Their bus caught fire in Canada they had just started home to Hendersonville from Canada. No one was injured. The fire was contained to one area, and the group was able to travel the rest of the way home.
  • Prayers also requested for Gerald Crabb. He had triple bypass surgery this week after experiencing chest pains. Everything went well. He will spend a few days in the hospital recovering.
  • The National Quartet Convention will be in Pigeon Forge through 2016. The event recorded its largest attendance in 13 years after its move to Pigeon Forge in 2014.
  • Claude Hopper's oldest sister, Virginia Hopper Steele, passed away on Thursday. Please keep the family in your prayers.
  • The Memphis Quartet Show has announced its lineup for 2016. Some different groups for next year include the Hopper Brothers 2.0, Ball Brothers and Gerald Williams and the Melody Boys. Check out the website for the full schedule (dates are not all correct, but it is the schedule for next year).
  • Joseph Habedank announced that he is funding a scholarship for Ben Speer's Stamps Baxter School of Music for 2016.

Anything I've missed?
