In Case You Missed It - News and Tidbits - April 18

Here are some news and tidbit items from this week in gospel music -

  • Brian Alvey has been named the new baritone singer for the Kingdom Heirs. Read more here
  • The Absolutely Gospel Music Awards were held this week at River of Life in Smyrna, Tennessee. Song of the Year was "Finish Well" by Karen Peck and New River.  Unashamed from Brian Free and Assurance was awarded Album of the Year. The Bowling Family was named Fan Favorite Artist. See the full list of winners here
  • Squire Parsons announced this week that he will be scaling back on his touring dates. His son Samuel and his wife Leah will also be pursuing their own music ministry and no longer be traveling with Squire.
  • The second round of voting for the Singing News Fan Awards has opened. Subscribers can vote online here. 
  • Shaye Smith of the Chuck Wagon Gang has requested prayer for her father. He is in need of a liver transplant. Read more here
