I have to say one of my favorite purchases this year has been the Gospel Music Hymn Sing DVD. I grew up in a small country church where that's what we sang every Sunday. We opened our own red hymnal (not THE Red Back hymnal) and sang favorites like "Love Lifted Me," "Power in the Blood" and "Just As I Am."
The theology in the hymns runs deep. I love praise and worship as well, but there is something so special about hymns and it's not just the memories of growing up.
The DVD reminds me of how special those hymns are. It's an incredible two-hour long DVD that will have you singing along with all your favorite gospel artists in your living room. Artist who were part of the taping include Greater Vision, Mark Trammell Quartet, the Whisnants, Tribute Quartet, Karen Peck and New River and many more. I strongly recommend checking it out and getting your own copy if you haven't already!
