Top Moment #9 - Amber Nelon Thompson Received Female Vocalist of the Year

The #9 top moment of 2014 came via webcast. Amber Nelon Thompson is no doubt one of the bright young stars of gospel music. She has been singing full time with her family since she was 13. She has held the soprano spot very comfortably since that time.

This year at the Absolutely Gospel Music Awards, Amber received her first singing award. She was awarded Female Vocalist of the Year. It was a touching acceptance speech paying tribute to her family, the other nominees and her late grandfather Rex Nelon. The award was definitely deserved and Amber was, in my opinion, overdue to be recognized for her talents. So for the #9 moment of the year, here's Amber's speech from the Nelons' Facebook page!
