In Case You Missed It - News and Tidbits - March 26

Here are some news and tidbit items from this week in Southern Gospel -

  • The Taylors have announced that Leslie and Aaron Perkins will be leaving their ministry to minister at a church in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The group will continue on as a trio.
  • Speaking of the Taylors, congratulations to Chris and Amanda Taylor who welcomed a baby girl this week. Emma Rose was born on March 18 and weighed 7 lbs, 12 oz. Mother and baby are doing well.
  • Archie Watkins is recovering after triple-bypass surgery. He has been moved out of CICU and is expected to stay in the hospital a little bit longer before being released. 
  • Tickets for this year's Absolutely Gospel Music Awards are on sale. E-mail seats@absolutelygospel.com or call 423-488-5924 9am - 8 pm CST to reserve your seat for this exciting event. There are a few more Artist Circle seats still available. It will be held in Nashville at the Nashville First Church of the Nazarene on April 12 at 7 p.m.
  • Mark209 announced Dustin Hood as the group's new baritone singer this week. He has previously sung with the Harper Family, By Grace, Mercy's Harbor and Appointed Quartet.
  • It seems that the Lesters are once again an all-family group with the addition of Bailee Lester singing alongside her husband and father-in-law. Matt Felts left the group a few months ago to become a part of Butler Music Group.
