Fear Not Tomorrow - When Lyrics Speak

I really hate uncertainty. I'm a planner; I like knowing what's ahead. I like looking at my calendar and putting down important dates, planning vacations and thinking about what I'll be doing several months from now. But life is full of uncertainties and the unknown. It seems to be coming more often lately though, in my own life and in the lives of others.

I was reminded of the song "Fear Not Tomorrow" by the Collingsworth Family. We all have questions about the future, wondering what's going to happen. Thankfully even though we don't know what tomorrow will hold, we know Who holds tomorrow.

Tomorrow can be a scary place. Even though I might have things scheduled on the calendar of what I think tomorrow will bring, God could have another plan. But the comforting thought is that He is already there, and with Him there we have nothing to fear.

I love the line that says "He is waiting to guide you." God will guide us and see us through to what the future holds. He sees what bumps in the road lie ahead, and He is already there preparing us for what lies ahead. He's there to carry us through good times and bad. We might not see it now, but this time of uncertainty can come before the greatest blessing of our lives. It could also be before one of the longest, hardest roads we've walked. But thankfully in the midst of uncertainty, we have the certainty that God is with us.

I know we are all faced with uncertainties about life, whether it's the serious illness of a family member, a possible change in jobs or an upcoming move. Some bigger than others, but all can seem pretty big at the time we are going through them. In this time of uncertainty, God reminded me to fear not tomorrow, because He is already there.

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." - Matthew 6:33
